Design & Construction of an Eco Resort in North Bank

Location: Sittanunku, The Gambia As the designer and construction supervisor. We commit to adopting sustainable construction methods by building with local materials, using eco-friendly alternatives such utilizing solar power, and boosting the local economy through supporting local businesses. We currently have 4 bungalows just nearing completion. Each of these has been constructed using sustainable methods and materials. The bungalows are made up off strengthen earth cobs and compressed stabilized earth blocks(CSEB). Where possible we have recycled tree trunks as support columns and roofing material. We also intend to use remaining tree trunks and branches as recycled wood for the interior, furniture etc. Working as the Project and Site Engineer, was responsible for overseeing the overall design and construction phase. We liaise with the architect and supervise site contractors whilst communicating and delivering progress reports to the client. We explore sustainable methods of construction and advise on materials to be used. We perform inspections and certify contractors works.
